What counts as a business day?

A business day (or working day) is any day from Monday to Friday. This calculator excludes Saturdays and Sundays. Public holidays vary by country and are not yet subtracted — they may be added in a future update.

How the “between” count works

The working-days count includes both the start and end date, matching the familiar NETWORKDAYS function in spreadsheets. So Monday to Friday in the same week is five business days.

Adding business days

Adding business days steps forward one weekday at a time, skipping weekends. Enter a negative number to count backwards — for example, “5 business days before” a deadline.

Frequently asked questions

  • Are holidays excluded? Not currently. Only weekends are removed, so you may need to subtract national holidays manually.
  • Does the order of the two dates matter? No. The working-days count is the same whichever date you enter first.
